ZYMOX Shampoo is the recommended shampoo to use with ZYMOX Leave-On Conditioner because its known gentle plant surfactants will not affect the enzyme formula in the rinse and its effectiveness. ZYMOX Shampoo does not contain harsh detergents, pesticides, colorings or residual petroleum products that might cause unnecessary skin irritation. These and other harsh surfactants used in many other pet shampoos could potentially destroy or disrupt the enzymes in the Leave-On Conditioner.
Once a flea and/or tick infestation has been resolved, ZYMOX Shampoo can be used to manage irritated skin followed by ZYMOX Leave-On Conditioner.
The ZYMOX line of skin and ear care products contains no antibiotics or harsh chemicals but rather employs the powerful, patented LP3 enzyme system. The products can safely be used on all aged pets.

Yes it can, but it may be too thick for dogs with long fur. Try diluting it a little bit in a clean bowl first.
In order to optimize results using ZYMOX Topical Spray or Cream, follow the no pre-cleaning protocol. Rinsing the area with water is allowed, however, no cleaning or antiseptic agent is necessary before using ZYMOX topicals. When dealing with itchy allergy skin and general superficial skin irritations, many pet owners have found ZYMOX Shampoo and Leave-On Conditioner to be excellent additions to the Cream and Spray.
ZYMOX products should be kept away from heat and stored at room temperature. Cold will not harm the enzymes. All bottles and tubes should be closed completely after each use.
The transfer or decanting of ZYMOX products is not recommended due to the possibility of contamination and the enzymes being disrupted by coming in contact with any possible residue in the new container.
ZYMOX from a veterinarian have a higher concentration of hydrocortisone in comparison to OTC ZYMOX products found in stores and online. The base enzyme formulas are the same.
The Topical Cream & Spray can alleviate irritations and infections due to bacteria/fungus. For large areas recommend the use of the ZYMOX Topical Spray.
Yes, the LP3 Enzyme System will also soothe skin while the hydrocortisone provides itch relief.
We do not offer a larger size bottle for the Topical Spray.
Yes, our topical products are nontoxic and can be safely used on all areas of the skin. In sensitive regions as described, consider using the ZYMOX Topical Cream which allows you to be more accurate in the application of the product.

Oratene contains the most complete, multi-complex enzyme system available to keep your pet’s teeth and gums clean. A veterinarian must remove the hardened calculus, known as tartar.
Once or twice a day, apply a 1/2″ strip directly from the tube between the cheek and upper gums. This is a brushless toothpaste, which means the pet’s own saliva distributes the product to all parts of the mouth. If you prefer to apply with a brush, you can, but it’s not necessary

The directions are two pumps to a quart (4 cups) of fresh water. If you have a smaller pet, you can divide it in half – one pump to two cups of water
The water additive is a flavorless concentrate that dilutes well in fresh water. The enzymes come in contact with the mouth with every lap of water.

Yes, Oratene is safe and for the diabetic pet and beneficial. One of the side effects of diabetes is damage to blood vessels that supply the mouth and jaw which can in turn affect the salivary glands. The dual enzyme systems in Oratene work to encourage healthy oral flora.

Please note that the enzymes contained in our Oratene Water Additive are only stable for 48 hours. If you do mix your water additive in advance, please make sure you only mix enough for two days and also refrigerate it to keep it fresh.

Ear Care
ZYMOX® Ear Solution will clean out exudate, help relieve irritations, and keep the ear clean. ZYMOX® Ear Solution is effective in maintenance of the ears, or to help with itching and discharge especially during the allergy season
You should not use any other ear preparations before or during applications of ZYMOX® Ear Solution because the enzyme activity that is present could become interrupted. The enzyme work best in a dirty environment. The use of ZYMOX® Ear Cleanser is only recommended after using a full course of ZYMOX® Ear Solution to keep dirty ears clean.
The ZYMOX® Ear Cleanser is ideal for cleaning waxy, dirty ears. It is not always necessary to clean ears.
ZYMOX® Ear Solution is to clean out troublesome exudate. If ear wax or dirt seems to be causing the odor, then ZYMOX® Ear Cleanser may be used.

The ZYMOX® LP3 Enzyme System is safe to use on cats. ZYMOX® is formulated without antibiotics, harsh chemicals and is non-toxic. It is ideal for dogs, cats of any age. Rabbits are don’t tolerate hydrocortisone so the HC free formula should be used.
Occasionally, a pet parent will not achieve the desired results after two weeks of use. Often times this is due to the pet owner not following the recommended no pre-cleaning protocol or dosage amounts. Cleaning disrupts the enzymatic activity and may make the product less effective. The ear canal needs to be filled to make sure all the surfaces have come in contact with the product. A few drops will not be sufficient. If recommended directions have been followed, and after 7 days there is no improvement, then consult a veterinarian.
ZYMOX® Ear Solution may be used with any products administered orally. All ZYMOX® products are for topical use only and should not be used in conjunction with any other ear topical.
The anti-itch properties of Hydrocortisone have provided much relief to pets with itchy, irritated skin of either the ears or skin. It is important to note though, any product containing hydrocortisone shouldn’t be used on pregnant or lactating females or rabbits.

Yes, it can be used on skin but it is a bit oily. We have a Cream and Spray formulated for skin application.
The basic enzyme base formula is identical in those products. The gold label has a secondary patented enzyme formula to dissolve biofilm (a slime layer some microbes create to hide in). The red label has the same secondary enzyme formula along with 1% hydrocortisone. The green label is the enzyme base only. The blue label has 1% hydrocortisone added. These products along with the Ear Solutions have the same potency of the LP3 Enzyme System. The hydrocortisone is for the inflammation and itching only and has no effect on the microbes.
The Ear Solution and Otic will help to break down any debris in the ear.
Yes, the product is to fill the ear canal to flood all the surfaces.
Some of the ZYMOX may be rubbed from the ear to other areas topically and the puppy licks the area. If a puppy licked the ZYMOX Otic from any area of the dog (puppies climb all over mom) it could potentially have an issue/irritant from ANY of the ingredients.
We do not offer any products to help dry out the ear canal and our ear solutions do not contain any drying agents.
Sensitivity to the product can happen, but advise the owner to discontinue use until they consult their vet.
Verify that the owner is using the solution as directed. Recommend that they consult a veterinarian if they are not seeing improvement in their pets ears. Owner can use an Otic to manage chronic ear infections on a weekly basis if needed.

Yes, you can switch Otics as long as the owner continues to follow the recommend directions of use.
Are you using the product as recommended on the bottle? If the pet suffers from chronic ear issues, we recommend that they maintain their pet’s ears with the Zymox Enzymatic Solution instead of the Ear Cleanser. While maintaining the ears with the Ear Solution, advise that they restrict use to a weekly basis (1-2 times).
The Otic with Hydrocortisone will help reduce swelling and irritation. If the cauliflower ear is brought on by an infection, Otic will most definitely help get rid of it.
No, after applying the Ear Solution as directed you can wipe off any excess, but you do not need to clean out the inner ear completely.
Yes it is safe to use the products together. However, the Ear Cleanser must be used AFTER the Ear Solution and not before or during.
This is more than likely the result of dirt, exudate, or even debris from ear mites being flushed from the ear and ear canal. Continue to use as directed and you should notice less pollution in your pet’s ear.
